Hi! My Name is Kelleyn and while I didn’t grow up here in Georgia, My family is deeply in love with this state. There is nothing better than a warm summer evening sitting out on my deck while listening to the Cicadas, watching the fireflies dance and drinking a cold glass of Diet Coke. I am a wife, a mother to six, and lover of chocolate. I am a graduate of Portland State University with a Bachelors of Arts in Pshycology and Social Work. While free time is limited, I enjoy reading, cooking, and walking in the forest. I have traveled around the world which has taught me to love all people and their cultures. As far back as I can remember, I have loved photography. I would spend hours looking at the pages of my mothers photo albums. I love how one image can capture more than just one word and tell a story. I began my journey from just an amature photographer to a professional photographer about 4 years ago after the birth of my 4th child. I wanted to take good quality images that would stand the test of time and so little by little I upgraded my camera from a point and shoot to a manual camera. Over time I added new lenses to my camera bag and began taking classes along the way to help me achieve my goals. In the fall of 2016, after much encouragement from friends and family I began taking my first photos as a professional photographer. I love my job!
As a mother, I understand that children may not want to have their photos taken, they aren’t going to want to be still, and most days are mundane; however, there is beauty in the mundane. While I certainly enjoy taking family portraits, I also love capturing those average little moments like playing a board game with your 8 year old, baking cookies with your two year old, a grandparent reading to a child from their favorite book, dad teaching his son how to tie his first tie or a little snuggle on the couch. All of these little moments are special and worth capturing and make this journey called life truly amazing.
